Edward & Judy Dart
Family and tradition are two things Ed Dart has always valued. For almost 70 years Ed has watched his parents experiment with new ways to make a profit from their "Old Town Farm",
In 1967, while preparing for his first year at the University of Rhode Island, he pitched his parents the idea of raising Christmas trees on the then 35-acre farm.
What began as an innovative idea to keep his family farm going turned into a business that not only brings joy to Judy & Ed but to families for over fifty years.
Next began the expansion of Dart's Tree Farm where Ed, now grows Leyland cypress and Thuja Green Giants in the off-season. Ed's next cutting-edge idea began in 2018, Ed followed the Christmas tree trends, with his next endeavor of real colored trees and The Magic Color Forest.
A Place Like No Other
The Old Farm
SINCE THE 18th CENTURY
“I love my farm and I love my town and I love the history of it all and I love sharing it with people, It means that much to them and it means a lot to me here, too.”
~Ed Dart
Since 1753
The family story begins when Alice & Fred Dart built one of the North Fork’s first farm stands in 1945 and established a retail vegetable route, delivering fresh produce to summer and weekend communities on the North Fork.
Christmas Trees
Old Town Farm was the first to become a
Cut-Your-Own Christmas Tree Farm on Long Island. With the success of Christmas tree sales for years by his father. Edward Dart expanded the farm in the 1970's with screening trees.
Spirit of Christmas
When you and your family visits Darts Tree Farm you enter a world of wonder with the spirit of Christmas all around. Years a go we expanded our gift shop in the Old Barn. This includes our famous wreath's handmade by Ed's wife Judy and her elves.
With all of the holiday cheer and Christmas spirit, we are delighted to see families return year after year and for Dart's to be a part of their family traditions.
